I have been sitting here thinking about Earth,Wind, and Fire, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Bob Marley, Toots and The Maytals, The B52's, and The Cars. These artists are where my own style really came from. I heard predominately Reggae, Soul, and R&B music as a child and am so grateful for this musical introduction early in life. These are my influences, like fellow musicians inviting you to stand up, move around, and sing. I suppose in the grand scheme I was really influenced by my family first and foremost. We are all musicians. We have joked and called ourselves the famous "Von Wallace" singers, playing on the Von Trappe singers from The Sound of Music. But really, we all sing, too. Here is a video from back in 2007 with all of us. Buddy/Dad: bass, Evan/Brother: drums, Mom/Susan: singing as well.
Consider it the throwback of the day.

Wish List: Takamine Classical-style Acoustic Guitar
I do believe my guitar is ending it's prime years. I would love one of these; exactly the same body and style as mine right now, but, with a pick up in it! No more mic-ing the guitar, it is time to take a step beyond.
Check it out.

"Rose Petals" Acapella performance at La Pregunta Cafe in Harlem
This was back in July, 2010 at La Pregunta Cafe on Amsterdam up in Harlem. A very cool place, lots of other talented youth with great pieces to share. I loved the scene there...

Southbay Caberet: Concert #1 in Series at Purchase College
I had the privilege of performing at this event, but, also, being a team member in the organizing and planning of it as well. Southbay is a concert series completely generated by a team of Arts Managers in the Arts Management program here at Purchase College. My team and I worked with our Performing Arts Center to gain great sound equipment and a small budget to work with, too. I also had a very talent special guest, Mark Ugbomah, who flowed beside me. Here is a clip from the performance, a song of mine titled "I've Got a Feeling":

Synchronicity: Latinos Unidos, PTV, & Accruing Bandmates
I am excited to have been asked to perform my music at two events this week at Purchase College. One, the Latinos Unidos even, Pride Y Pasion, will be an evening filled of Latin food, art, dance and other aspects of their culture. I happen to have some Spanish in a song I wrote entitled "The Bridge" that I believe will be suiting to play at the event. Stay tuned for video/audio footage to come.
Second, I will be on PTV, Purchase Television, on Monday night performing on a show segment showcasing Purchase College musicians. Stay tuned also for video from this
I also recently met August Berger who has agreed to begin forming a group with me. He, a harmonica player & classical Bass Music Conservatory member, will be an awesome first edition.
Allow me to post some pictures and video from my performance last week at the Southbay Caberet concert series here at Purchase College, featuring Mark Ugbomah.
